To The Dos Santos Family
My heart is filled with grief for the loss of Tony; my friend, neighbor and adopted family for over 24 years. Mr. Santos is a general contractor and businessman who does excellent work and treats his clients with compassion, respect and a sense of fairness. Tony always tried to find a way to save his customers money without compromising quality. When Tony does a job you can be assured of quality in service, a good days work and always a slice of advice on how to take care of your property to prevent constant repairs. Additionally, if you have a personal problem, he will sit you down, give you his usual infectious smile and tell you how to solve your problem. He is always part of the solution because he gives his time to others unselfishly. His kindness and generosity to me, my family and my friends will always be remembered. My entire house has been renovated by Tony. I will always remember all the lessons and advice he has passed on to me about life, the neighborhood and family. Jose, Clarinda and all the members of the Dos Santos Family, please accept my deepest sympathy for his loss. He will be fondly remembered.

Tony will be missed. His kindness and smile were his trademark. Those who knew Tony were treated to his life stories. From the high seas to his father's farm, Tony shared part of himself. His smile, laugh and stories will live on in the memories of those fortunate enough to have know him.

Dear Joey, (and family)
My heart has been heavy this week with the loss of your Dad. For many, many years he took care of our beloved 182 Waterman St. property which was difficult to do since it is such an old building. He shared many stories of his life with me and I with him since my son, Michael Quinlan, was also a student at Moses Brown in your class. I can only describe him as a "gentle giant" with a keen sense of life and why we are here in this world. He was so proud of you and your accomplishments and I am happy he got to see you happily married with your daughters, Ava and Nicole. I will bid farewell to him along with Alden (my boss) and will be able to walk by his burial place since I live only a few streets away from the cemetery.
He will always be with you when you see a kindness performed and a hearty laugh. Our building will not be the same without him strolling through it!!
Sincerely,
Susanne Kershaw

To the family of Tony dosSantos,
I was saddened to see Tony's smiling face in the obiturary section and know that he had passed away.
When I first moved to Providence in 2000, I rented an apartment from the Rubensteins who had Tony in their employ. The unit was not ready for me and was still under construction. I got to know Tony VERY well since he worked on the apartment every day for months. Tony was generous with me, taking me to his house on Ivy Street to meet his wife Maria - and even to use their shower since I had none! I especially enjoyed our conversations. Tony taught me about home renovations, and shared stories about his life. He always made me laugh.
I know that he spoke often about his son who was in Boston. He was a proud father. I heard all about his son, his accomplishments with school and in professional life. Tony would beam when he spoke of him.
I am sorry that with a previously planned trip that I cannot attend either the visiting hours or the funeral. My deepest sympathy goes out to Tony's family. Tony was my first friend in Providence. I won't forget the friendship and care he gave to me.

To All of Antonio's Family:
We are unable to attend the services for Antonio, but wanted to tell you how very sorry we are about his death. He was a wonderful neighbor and friend. We loved talking to him, getting gardening advice, and hearing about the neighborhood years ago. The block will be very different without him - less warm, less like a community. We will miss Antonio very much.
