Clara Rattey Obituary
95, of Pawtucket, RI, wife of the late Gerard "Jerry" Rattey, passed away on November 5, 2017.
She was the daughter of Clara E. Hall and Andrew J. Loux, formerly of Greenwich Village, MA, one of the towns displaced for the Quabbin Reservoir. They moved to New Braintree, MA and then to West Brookfield, MA.
Clara is survived by three sons and two daughters - Gerald of Rumford, RI; Ronald of Takoma Park, MD; Paul of Rehoboth, MA; Christine of North Smithfield, RI; and Beverly of Lincoln, RI. She leaves 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was a 59-year member of Smithfield Ave. Congregational Church, a deacon of the church, and a member of the former Girl's Service Club.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Smithfield Ave. Congregational Church, 514 Smithfield Ave., Pawtucket, RI 02860.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, Nov. 10 from 5-8 PM in the Merrick R. Williams Funeral Home 210 Taunton Ave., East Providence, RI. The funeral Service will be held on Saturday, at 10 AM in the Smithfield Ave. Congregational Church 514 Smithfield Ave., Pawtucket, RI. www.merrickrwilliamsfh.com

Clara was a good woman, a good soul. When I would visit her at the Jeanne Jugan Residence, I loved to make her laugh! I spent some time with her alone when she first took a turn for the worst, but regretfully, I was away when she passed away and did not know until much later. May Our Lord have mercy on her soul.

Clara and I were distant Loux cousins, and began corresponding and phoning several years ago. I also visited her a few times, always sharing lunch and listening to her memories. She always answered letters promptly with lots of news. I always admired her ability to persevere with her many puzzles. My condolences to the many generations who loved her.
