Craig MacInnes Obituary

MAC INNES, DR. CRAIG SCOTT, 61, died to this life Sept 11, 2011 at Home & Hospice Care RI, Providence. He was the beloved son of Claire (Barnes) MacInnes and the late James A. MacInnes of Cranston. He was the loving father of Eva Lee MacInnes of Charlestown, RI and Keith Aaron MacInnes of Houston, TX. Craig is survived by a sister Kim Laurie MacInnes, and a brother Stuart James MacInnes and wife Shelley, all of Massachusetts. Craig attended Dutemple School of Cranston, graduated from N. Kingstown H.S., attended Caltech, and earned his BS and PhD in EE from URI. He was employed by IBM, E. Fishkill, NY and NUWC Sonar Div., Newport, RI. His algorithm development work was published in professional journals and presented at scientific conferences. He was an avid jazz guitarist, formerly played with the Big Band of Cumberland and authored an upcoming book Resources for Jazz Guitarists. He also held Extra Class amateur radio callsign AA1IF. A graveside service celebrating Craig's life will be held this Saturday at noon at Pocasset Memorial Park, 417 Dyer Ave., Cranston. Donations in his memory may be made to Salvation Army, 201 Pitman St., Providence.
