DAILEY, DAVID W.
65, of Exeter, RI, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, August 9, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Lori-Ann (Mongeau) Dailey to whom he has been married to for 30 years. Born in Pawtucket, RI on April 14, 1953, he is the son of the late Stephen H. Dailey Jr and the late Joan (Feeley) Dailey.
David was a Vietnam veteran, who served in the United States Marine Corps. David has been a School Bus Driver for several years, which he truly enjoyed. He loved spending time with his family, taking vacations with his wife, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and having a nice cold one with friends.
He is the devoted father of James Dailey of Pawtucket, RI; Jessica (Dailey) Miller and Father- In Law to Raymond Miller of Richmond, RI, and USMC Sgt Matthew Dailey of Exeter, RI. He is the beloved grandfather of Kaden Dailey of Pawtucket, RI. David is one of seven brothers and sisters: Dan Dailey and his wife Lynn of Rumford, RI; John Donald Dailey of Pawtucket, RI; the late Wayne Dailey and his wife Kathleen of Pawtucket, RI; Nancy (Dailey) Spaziano and her husband Tony of Seekonk, MA; Sandra Dailey of Florida; and Brian Dailey of Seekonk, MA. He was a loved uncle to ten nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Stapleton Family Funeral Home located at 684 Park Avenue in Cranston, RI with calling hours from 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018. Following calling hours, a committal service will be held at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, RI with Military Honors starting at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in David's memory may be made to Operation Stand Down RI, a local non-profit that helps veterans and their families in need. David loved attending OSDRI events and their mission to help his fellow veterans in need.
