FRANK SISTO Obituary

SISTO, FRANK A. SR., 89, of Providence, died on March 3, 2010. Frank was the husband of the late Valma L. Sisto.

He was predeceased by his son, Frank A. Sisto, Jr. and grandson Brian M. Songen, his parents Federico and Cesaria Sisto, 3 brothers, John, Rocco and Anthony Sisto, 3 Sisters, Fannie DeCorpe, Josephine Vallese and Mary Verno.

Mr. Sisto worked for Cardi Corporation for 30 years, retiring in 1982. He served in the US Army during WWII, and fought 5 major battles, including the Invasion of Normandy.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Bouffard Council in North Providence, the American Legion Post #0056 and Local 271 Laborers International Union of N.A.

Mr. Sisto is survived by 2 daughters, Lorraine Giarrusso, husband Louis, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Ann Songen, husband Victor, of Providence, daughter in-law, Arlene Sisto of Warwick, 7 grandchildren, Louis and Laura Giarrusso, Christopher and Amy Songen, Frank III and Michael Sisto and Robin Charlonne, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours Saturday 9-10:15am in the A.A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Agnes Church, 100 Chatham St., Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. I always remember you as a real nice man when I was a kid. I also remember you in Frank´s work shop in the back of the house. Rest in peace my friend along with your wonderful family.

He was always nice to me when I was a little wise guy. lol . I remember his black Cadillacs that he used to drive. I am sure he is heaven with all the rest of the good people. God bless. I´m sure I´m gonna run in to him soon.

I remenber Frank from when I was 12 years old all the way till I want in the Air Force when his daughter and I went to elementary school together and were neighbors. I always remember him in his work shop. He and his wife were akways so kind to me. I remember how he liked them big Cadillac's , black ones.. He was a good person and parent and I hope he is enjoying himself in Heaven, where I am sure he is.. I hope I see you there someday "Mr. Sisto" as I used to call you..

You all probably dont remember me, I knew you girls and you parents and Grandma when I was a kid thru my early teenage years. Every now and then I check in people I use to know from Eagle Park. I remember your folks as being super nice people, your mom use to say I drove like the " hammers from hell". LOL. May god bless them all and keep them close to him in Heaven.
