Giuseppe Matrullo

MATRULLO, GIUSEPPE M. "JOSEPH" 96, of Cranston, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014 peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late Paolo and Andriana (Lombardi) Matrullo. Joseph was the husband of Phyllis (Conti) Matrullo and the late Anna (Amalfitano) Matrullo. Mr. Matrullo was an aircraft mechanic and supervisor at Quonset Point in North Kingstown for thirty five years, before his retirement. He was an Army Veteran serving during WWII, and in the 1960's and 1970's, he served as President of Local 767 of the American Federation of Government Employees at the Quonset Naval Air Station. Besides his wife, he is survived by his two children; Eileen Klimaj and her husband Bernard and Dr. Paul Matrullo and his wife Sharon. Joseph was the cherished grandfather of five; Dr. Scott Klimaj, Kristen Carron, Esq., Dr. Joseph Matrullo, Jeffrey Matrullo, Esq. and Jonathan Matrullo, and great grandfather of eight; Jack, Emily, Zacharie, Mathieu, Eva, Andrew, Abigail and Elena. He was the brother of Mary and Anna Matrullo. Mr. Matrullo was the step-father of Sandra Carlino, Anthony Santurri, Debra Romano and Linda Cannata. He was the step-grandfather of eleven and step-great grandfather of twelve. Funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Friday at 8:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Ghost Church, Atwells Avenue, Providence at 10 a.m. Burial, with Military Honors, will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
