Dear Barbara and Shane,
We just heard the news. I was just talking about Joe and my grandfather tonight. Joe touched my life in many ways. A very wise man who taught me a great deal. He will be truly missed but never forgotten.

Dear Malcolm and Joannie,
I have just read the sad news of your brother's passing. Tom and I wish to be among those who are offering sincerest sympathy at this time.
Though I haven't seen your brother since I was a child, he, your brother Raymond and my dad were good friends and I know that he will be missed and mourned by his family and his community, for which he did so much.
Our thoughts are with you.

Dear Barbara, Shane, Malcolm and each and every member of the Badway family,
Please accept my sincere condolences at Joe's passing. He always had a friendly greeting for me, we often passed time gabbing about this 'n that, once in a while did a little business, and laughed a lot in company with Ray, Malcolm, et al at Dean. Those were the days; I witnessed Joe's generosity many times, and was the recipient often. His sense of loyalty knew no bounds, and a friend was always a friend. As a matter of fact, look up 'true friend' in Websters and there is Joe's picture. Our prayers and warm wishes go out to all in the family.

To John and the entire Badway family,
Joseph was an inspiration to all. Although I never met him personally, I, nevertheless, was proud that a fellow Rhode Islander could attain the respect and awe of a nation for his accomplishments.

To the family: I will never forget Joe and how he helped me. My first car was a high performance car and no one would insure me. Joe comes over my Dad's house and gives me his own dealer tag (125A) to use. He told me that he knew how bad I wanted to drive my new car. I was only 16 at the time. I kept his plate for maybe 4 months and Joe never once asked for it back. A great guy. May he rest in peace.
