Dorothy Laura Badway, 93, passed away in her residence at Berks Heim in Leesport, PA.
Dorothy was the wife of the late Abraham Maynard Badway, with whom she enjoyed nearly 70 years of marriage. Together, they shared five wonderful children: Dr. David (Andrea) Badway, Pittsburgh; Douglas (Beth) James, PhD, Shillington, the late Daniel Badway; Donna (Matthew) Smith, Shillington; and Dale Badway, Largo, FL.
Dorothy was born in Easton, PA on May 4th, 1931 to her loving parents, Paul and Dolly (Dixon) DeRoner. She spent her childhood growing up alongside her two siblings, Daniel (Hilda) DeRoner, Sarasota, FL; and the late Suzanne Casteen. She went on to graduate from Wilson High School and married her husband Abraham a few years later.
Throughout Dorothy's life, she was a dedicated caretaker. This began with her children, who she dedicated her life to raising, working tirelessly and lovingly everyday to ensure their well-being. She carried this same passion by serving as a foster mother and driver of school age children. This love for raising and spending time with children was felt by her nieces and nephews as well, and continued as her 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild were born, who she loved spending time with as much as she possibly could. There was nothing she loved more than spending the day at the beach in Stone Harbor surrounded by her loving family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, 2810 St. Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, PA 19608 with entombment to follow at Gethsemane Mausoleum. A viewing will be held at the church from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Ignatius RCC at the above address. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home is honored to serve the Badway family. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.

I'm so sorry to hear of Dottie's passing. She was such a great friend to my mom, Nancy. I'm sure they are having a blast together reminiscing about shore vacations.
