Yo, Yoe, Joe. This is all about my grandson Joe. About an hour after you were born, I saw you for the first time. You were a chubby red headed little guy. I watched you learn to walk and talk and grow - and grow you did! You always had a great sense of humor and a bigger sense of mischief. When you were little we used to get in a lot of trouble together. I remember one time you got locked in my bathroom. You were really getting scared and couldn’t follow my directions to get out and I couldn’t get the door open so finally I had Uncle Mark come up and take the door off. Then there was the time you were choking on a Saugy hotdog on my wet kitchen floor and I fell on my backside trying to get to you. We were both crying but you were safe. But we did better together as you grew older. You loved to set up practical jokes and set traps for people to make us laugh. I remember when you rigged up a cup contraption on the top of the door so that when I came through the door I got soaked! And did you laugh- and I laughed too.
I’ve always hurt for you when you hurt and I felt happy for you when you were happy. I wouldn’t trade any of our times together or my memories of us for anything. We played cards and scrabble and always enjoyed each other’s company. I’m so lucky that I have so many good memories: your graduation from elementary school, cub scouts, boy scouts, camp Yawgoog, basketball and most of all your high school graduation. I never saw you smile so much. You were so proud of yourself and I was so proud of you. Your whole family was so proud of your accomplishment.
Through all the good things and the bad things too, I have always been your grandmother. I am your grandmother still. Sometimes when we would be playing a game or talking, one of your friends would come by and you would apologize for throwing me under the bus to go off and do something with your friend. I never minded Joe. I would give anything if you could throw me under the bus one more time Joey.
I want you to know how sad I am that you’re gone. I want everyone to know that you were loved so much by your whole family and that you’ll always be in my heart. I’ll love you forever Joey. Love Grandma Carol.

Little Joe,
It's hard to get back into the normal daily routine of life knowing that you are gone. I would give anything to have 5 more minutes with you. I hope you are looking down on us and know how much we all truly miss and love you. I wish that life wasn't so hard and hectic and that we were able to take more advantage of the time we had together. I miss your smile, laugh and mumble. I wish Gio had more time to know his Big Uncle Joe. Through our stories and pictures he will know how much you loved him. May you rest in peace forever little brother. Love and miss you always. Your sister, Nicole
