Joseph D'Errico Obituary

D'ERRICO, JOSEPH J. 86 of Putnam Pike, formerly of Cranston passed away May 11, 2007 at R.I. Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of the late Rosamunde C. (Cianfarani) D'Errico.

Born in Providence a son of the late John F. and Helen (Campopiano) D'Errico. Mr. D'Errico was the Owner and President of the former J. F. D'Errico Co., Inc. and D'Errico Travel. He was a Graduate of Providence College and Boston University, School of Law. He was a Life member of the American Legion, Post # 1 and former commander. A member of V.F.W., Post # 4651 and a member of the D.A.V., Chapter #10. He was a decorated Veteran of WW II serving in the U. S. Army Air Corp. in the European Theater of Operation. A Boy Scout Leader for 15 years. A charter member of the Ocean State Villagers, and a charter member of the Federal Hill Lions Club. A former member of the Aurora Civic Assoc. and the Edgewood Yacht Club. Mr D'Errico had a lifelong interest in travel, gardening and stamp collecting.

He was the beloved father of Joseph J. D'Errico, Jr. of Griswold, CT., Joyce D. Ellison of Ludlow, VT. and Anne D. Smith of Chepachet. Loving grandfather of Joseph J. D'Errico, III, Denise M. and Jason P. Ellison, Tracy L and Abigail M. Smith. He was the brother of the late Dr. John D'Errico.

His Funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:45 a.m. from 'WOODLAWN' Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m in St. Mark's Church, Cranston. Burial with military honors will be in St. Francis Cemetery. To The Entire D'Errico Family,
I am writing this with Sincere Sympathy & Regards from the entire Waitstaff @ The Village @ Waterman Lake. Joe is sadly missed already. We will keep him in our prayers & thoughts. He surely was a Gentle Man.Sincerely Donna Manzi ( Chalet Waitstaff Co-ordinator)
