Joseph Laprocina Obituary

LAPROCINA, JOSEPH, 87, of 2nd Ave., Cranston, passed away Monday, September 1, 2008 at home. He was the beloved husband of the late Gertrude N. 'Norma' (Carle) Laprocina.

Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Nicola and Angelina (Corso) Laprocina.

Mr. Laprocina was foreman and machinist at Leesona Corp. in Warwick for 40 years, retiring in 1986. He was a WW-II U.S. Army Veteran, and was an avid card player at the Warwick Fire Fighters Association.

He was the devoted father of Norma Lee Fullerton and Lois C. Zablocki, both of Cranston, Gloria L. Maltezos of Warwick and the late Nicholas J. Laprocina; loving grandfather of six; loving great-grandfather of four; and dear brother of Josephine Saccoccia of AZ, Philomena DeSimone of Cranston, Santo Laprocina of Providence, Rose Manera of Johnston, Paul Laprocina and Virginia Frazier, both of Warwick, and the late Antonetta Paglia and Carlo, Frank, Pasquale and Julio Laprocina.

His funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Matthew's Church, Elmwood Ave., Cranston at 10:00 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will be at RI Veterans Cemetery in Exeter. VISITING HOURS FRIDAY MORNING 8-9 A.M.
