Joseph Myers Obituary
Born in Providence, a son of William E. Myers of Warren and Gloria D. (Sylvia) Mowry of Riverside and nephew of Arthur 'Pasey' Sylvia of Barrington, he lived in Barrington for 35 years. Mr. Myers was a truck driver for the former St. Johnsbury Trucking Co. for 20 years before retiring in 1992. Joseph was a member of the Teamsters Local #251. He was a member of the Rhode Island National Guard for 6 years.
Besides his parents and uncle, he is survived by a son; Joseph S. Myers, Jr. of North Providence, a daughter; Jillian S. Myers of North Providence, a brother; William E. Myers of Barrington, a sister; Jacqueline L. Ullman of Foster, three grandchildren; Devin, Jordan and Jaiden and several nieces and nephews. He was the grandfather of the late Donte Perron.
His funeral will be held on Monday July 21, 2008 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angel Church, Maple Avenue, Barrington at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Calling hours are Sunday 4-8 p.m.

Dear Gloria, Bill and Family,
I was sorry to hear about Joey's passing. It has been a long time since I have seen the Myers brothers. We all grew up together on Anoka & Waseca Avenues playing baseball at Veterans Park and flipping baseball cards against the Myers steps when we were kids some 47+ years ago. Wow, how time flies. I have some great memories of Joey playing baseball with us. He was always a great hitter for his age, being Billy's younger brother, he always played up with us older kids. I am home visiting my Mom, in Barrington and happened to read about Joey's passing and wanted to express my deepest condolences to all of you.

I send you my deepest sympathy. I was so besides myself to hear the passing of my close friend. We reunited again as friends after many years. I will always remember the calls and letters from him.
