Laurie Jakeman Obituary
58, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. Cooke, Jr. and the late Lois (Hodgson) Cooke. Laurie was a lifelong Smithfield resident and worked in sales for over 25 years for the Allied Group. She was the beloved mother of Julie M. Powell and her husband Mark of Smithfield. She was the loving grandmother of Sawyer and Finn Powell; sister of Robert J. Cooke, III and the late Beverly A. Lachapelle. Tonya Stanton and her daughter, Ava were also an important part of her life.
Visitation Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 10-11am, with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11am in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Pike (Rt.44) Greenville. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to Amos House, 460 Pine St., Providence, RI 02907 will be appreciated.

Julie and family---I'm so very, very sorry for your loss. Your mother was one of the funniest, heartwarming people I'd ever met at Allied. She always made me feel like I was "one of the gang" and I'm forever grateful for that. So many fun memories of all the nice vacations we spent together. She's your newest angel now.
