Dr. Lawrence Weiner

WEINER, DR. LAWRENCE H. 81 died on January 29, 2016. He was the son of Haskell and Esther Weiner. In 1967 he married Marilyn (Quinlan) Weiner and together they raised Matthew and Daniel Weiner. He leaves 2 cherished grandchildren, Danielle and Jesse. He was a well-known educator and advocate for special needs children. He graduated from Boston University a degree in clinical psychology and he received his doctorate from Syracuse University in special education. He was the director of special education in Barrington, Swansea and Newton MA. He later worked as a school psychologist at the Newport County Reginal Special Education Program. He most recently maintained a private practice as a psychologist and consulted with local nursing homes. Arrangements are with Smith Funeral and Memorial, and Cremation Services 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, February 2nd from 5-8pm. A graveside service with Military honors will be held Wednesday at 9:30am in the Forest Chapel Cemetery, Barrington.
