Lynn Augustine Obituary

DECATUR - Lynn D. Augustine, 53, of Decatur went home to be with the Lord at 8:10 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2006. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2006, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 250 W. Decatur Street. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, April 9, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church or Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois, S.C. Lynn was born October 23, 1952 in Danville, Illinois, the only child of Donald and Norma (Schmitt) Augustine. She grew up in California and graduated from La Canada High School. She excelled in ballet and loved to dance. While in California, Lynn was employed by Merrill Lynch Private Capital in Los Angeles. Lynn was the Executive Assistant to the Chairman and Chief Executive of Archer Daniels Midland Company and continued to work until the Lord called her home. Her professionalism, strength and determination propelled the success of her career. Her happiness in life was her work and the many friends she made since returning from California in 1992. She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church and assisted the minister on assigned Sundays out of love for God and his son Jesus Christ. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 105 and loved singing and dancing with her friends at karaoke. She was an avid Illini Fan and shared her spirit and loyalty with her many friends in the Decatur Illini Club. Lynn had a very gentle and caring heart for people as well as animals and especially for her precious Fonzi, her Maine Coon cat. Surviving is her mother, Norma; Uncle Ed Augustine and wife Treva (Lamb); Great Aunt Eileen Clausen; Great Aunt June Carr; and many dear cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Donald H. Augustine and Grandparents Henry (Pete) and Ada Augustine; Charles and Mabel Schmitt. The family would like to give special thanks to the Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois, S.C., Decatur Memorial Hospital Hospice and especially to Dr. Esparaz, Dr. Fritz and their staff for all the loving care given, as well as the 5th floor nursing staff at DMH. Don't focus on the fear. Faith is powerful. Focus on the dream. Matthew 17:20 Remember me as I was. Obituary written by family members. It was with surprise and great sadness to learn of my cousins illness and passing. We had not been in touch during our adult life, but I have many fun memories of our younger years. I was so impressed by her ballet skills and could never figure out how she could stand on her toes like she did!! I remember the love she had for her parents and my thoughts and prayers are with my Aunt Norma.

Lynn was a customer of mine, when I worked at Amoco in S.S.

She was so thoughtful and always had a smile on her face. A very pretty lady and very classy.

I am sure she will be missed by all who knew her.

God bless you Norma during your loss.

Please accept my heart felt sympathy for the loss of your loved one, Lynn Augustine. Lynn was a customer of mine..and I always enjoyed her visits. I had missed her visiting in the store for some time. She loved feeding the birds and would come into my store to buy her seed. We would often discuss our fathers, our cats and life in general. She was always smiling and so positive in her attitude towards others. She will be missed.
