Mark Nevitt Obituary

NEVITT, MARK THOMAS, II "TOMMY" 28, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, August 25, 2014 at his home in Narragansett. He is the son of Marilyn Grogan (Michael Grogan) of Cohoes, NY, and the late Mark Nevitt of West Kingston. Tommy is survived by his sisters Shahnee Lagor (Matthew Lagor and nephew Jacob) of East Providence, Stacy Belarmino (Dr. James Belarmino and niece Trinity) of Lakeland, FL and Mackenzie Grogan of Cohoes, NY. He is also loved and missed dearly by his grandmother Stella "Baba" Moskalyk of Cohoes, NY and his extended family including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Tommy was born February 26, 1986 in Warwick, RI. He spent his earlier years in Cohoes, NY and graduated from South Kingstown High School in 2004. After the passing of his father in 2009, Tommy became the owner of All American Quality Cleaning. He was a dedicated businessman who valued his customers and treasured their relationships. Tommy was a kind, gentle and compassionate soul. He met strangers who later became friends. He embraced life with open arms, greeting his loved ones and friends with a warm heart, a charming smile and a contagious laugh. He wasn't just someone you met, he was someone who touched your life and left a lasting impression. Above all else, he was a loyal and loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to those that knew and loved him. When Tommy wasn't working he enjoyed spending long days outdoors with his dog, Forest. He was an avid hunter, camper, hiker, and motorcyclist-a true adventure seeker. VISITING HOURS will be held Friday, August 29th from 4 p.m. to 8 p. m. at Nardolillo Funeral Home-SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Rd. (Rt.1A) Narragansett. Entering into year 10, the vast imprint left in your wake remains ever present in all the lives of those blessed to have experienced you. You moved throughout life a true individual; you had a commitment to upholding morality in a world seemingly littered with insensitivity, insecurity, doubts & and overwhelming collective conformity. You shined, You were brave and confident in your nature. A man that could be multifaceted. Able to love&nurture wholeheartedly; a man fiercely loyal to extend kindness, & offer unconditional acceptance to all amidst any pre conceived opinions. You stood outside the box; outside of society's stereotypical definition of masculinity confidently with pride; you unknowingly set an example of what it means to be multifaceted. You beamed in authenticity and had a genuineness that poured outwards unconsciously without any fears of judgment. You were lover, a nurturer, an attentive grandson, son, and brother. You were a gentle natured, sentimental manly man. You were A friend to all in need offering unbiased encouragement & support not only to the ones you loved but to all in need of someone to simply care. You listened intently to our woes, you sacrificed your time to help others achieve dreams, you celebrated our wins. You raised our spirits. You had a natural ability to uncover & bring out the best in people by simply being present. You showcased an example of unwavering resilience, positivity & strength amidst a silent unseen, unknown battle, the heartbreak you were forced to sit in following your father´s abrupt unfair exit. Your life will always remain a shining example of what it means to be kind. To be a perfectly imperfect human- for all that knew you, and for others who never got the chance.. Your essence; the entirety of your being embodied our golden rule, down to your core you treated others as you would want to be treated; always & no matter what. The way it felt to be loved by you was something fierce, never fading. I can feel it today & I can trust I'll feel it for all the days yet to come. You remain an exceptional being here nor there- a story extraordinary, a love that remains felt so strongly & so presently, always right by my side, familiar and warm.. comforting & shining over me every. single . day since you made your transition into the afterlife. It's my belief that he was truly too good for this world.. I'll continue to celebrate all that was Tom, forever and ever striving to be a living embodiment of the purity & kindness brought to life in the story of you. A man with love and a passion for life so powerful it quite literally defies all concepts of time and spaces.

Dear Marilyn,Mike, Stella and family I know all to well this profound pain. My Tommy has left me too and there isn't a day that will go by that your Tommy won't be with you. Even though he has left me in the flesh I have felt his presence many times.Keep God close and listen and look for the signs. Tommy is with you. I wish things were different, but I guess it is part of a bigger plan. We must keep our Faith and never give up the hope of being together again someday in love and peace. God Bless You All.

My Sincere Sympathy to the Nevitt Family. Taken too soon in life, from a Father in Cohoes.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To the Family of Mark "Tommy" Nevitt, my most sincere condolences from a Father in Cohoes.

SAFELY HOME

I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
Oh so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.
Did you wonder I so calmly
Trod the valley of the shade?
Oh, but Jesus' love illumined
Every dark and fearful glade.
And He came Himself to meet me
In that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus' arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt or dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still,
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust our Father's will.
There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remains,
You shall rest in Jesus' land.
When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!
