Dear Jean & Mike:
What do you say to friends that you have known for years, when their son
is taken so tradically?
Knowing about mini Mikes CF, seeing him grow
into a fine young man, and thrilled after waiting for so long for the lung transplant, we among so many many
people were shocked to hear of his
death. So many questions are left un-
answered.
Why? being number one, and no one
has the answer, but as his loving parents you must go on, knowing that
he was a wonderful loving,courageous
person who shared his short time on
earth with you and loved you dearly.
Please accept our love, and deepest
sympathy.
Gloria & Richard Tardiff

I just got done reading all the entries that people have left for Mike and I realize how many lives he has touched and it overwhelms me and brings tears to my eyes. I remember when Mike and his fellow co-workers came to Boston to the Metlife office where I was working at for training and Mike was a wonderful man and full of spunk and life and always made me laugh. You could be having a bad day and he would make some comment and get me and others laughing. I also got the opportunity to work with Mike for Metlife in Warwick, RI as well and we worked in the same dept and he was a wonderful co-worker and once again full of life and happy. Mike was a true treasure. I will miss him and never forget him for as long as I live. I have only good memories about Mike and he could take a bad situation and make people laugh and feel good about themselves. I lost touch with Mike throughout the years but on 11/1/2007 I happened to come across the news online and read about this tragic accident and I froze when I read that he was killed. This should have never happened to him. He was given a second chance at life and he should be getting ready to marry Katy and live a happy life and to have it cut this short is not right. Im sure Mike is looking down at us and smiling. Katy - my heart goes out to you, Im at a loss for words on what to say. To his family - Im sorry that you have to go through this. Mike should be alive and living his new life and enjoying every moment with you all and Katy.

Mike has made a difference in alot of lives and he sure did in mine even though he never knew it. He will be missed and may he rest in peace. God bless his soul and take good care of Mike. He was a good man.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you, Katie and Mr. & Mrs. Groff. We thought Michael was a wonderful boy and grew into a wonderful man. We anticipated not seeing him as much (and were thrilled by that) but God knows we never expected this terrible event. He was a great guy and will be missed by us all at Hasbro's Respiratory Department.

I am devastated to hear about the terrible accident that took Mike's life. Like all of us with CF, he fought the good fight and seemed to win, gaining a new chance at life with his transplant. My heart aches with this news. I will keep him and all of his family in my prayers.

They say that people make ripples in life, like water, each ripple representing another person touched. Mike was a true example of that. He influenced so many, just by supporting people. I'll miss him greatly, and the influence he had on me.
