Michael Moretti Obituary
66, of Cranston, died Sunday, September 16, 2018 at the Kent Regency in Warwick, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was the spouse of the late Melvin "Mel" M. Baker. Mel and Michael spent over 40 wonderful years together.
He was born in Providence a son of Barbara G. (Ekno) Moretti - Peters of Warwick and the late Michael A. Moretti.Mr. Moretti was a US Airforce Veteran.Michael was the Store Manager for the Mel & Me Ltd. in Garden City, Cranston.He has been a lifelong resident of Cranston.Besides his mother he is survived by his brother John D. Moretti (Ronald A. DiOrio) of Forestdale, RI and Janet T. Trombetti (Ernest R. Trombetti) of Cranston.Mr. Moretti was the uncle of Erica and Nicholas Trombetti. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins and a host of friends.His funeral service will be held Thursday Sept. 20, 2018 at 1:00pm in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.Relatives and friends are invited to attend.In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to the Resident Council Fund, of Kent Regency, 660 Commonwealth Avenue, Warwick RI, 02886www.murphyfuneralhomes.org.

My heart is broken. I have just learned that my dear, funny, sweet friend is gone and I can hardly speak. We shared so many times togethercelebrations, tragic moments, dinners, long talks and special secrets. We laughed a lot and understood each other. Michael was my client and friend for over 15 years. He was a gentle soul that had the best advice. He was one of the most loyal people I have ever encountered in my lifetime. He was protective of me in his advice and he wouldn't want me to spend one moment unhappy. We spoke on a regular and we had lunch at Sweet Indulgence every other Saturday. Michael was very good to me He was a giving person. I have a huge collection of gifts and text from him to remember him by. He'd be the first one to tell me never to settle and don't spend a moment unhappy. I loved him dearly. Fly high my dear friend! You will be forever missed. There will always be a void no one will fill your shoes. My forever friend. ❤

Our deepest sympathies to Michael's family. He had been such a caring neighbor over the past two years, welcoming us into the neighborhood and never minding that our Dog liked to give him great big hugs (without necessarily considering personal boundaries). His dry wit was welcomed small talk and we will miss our chats with him and his neighborly friendship.

This Christmas Party circa 1980 is an image of the friendship we shared for so many years. Always respectful , with that satirical humor, yet sensitive nature were the cornerstones of Mike's life. So many times he was the rock that gave me courage.
My family was always grateful for his loyalty and never ending support.
Our hope is that Mike is comfortable and happy with all his loved ones - and who didn't love him!?
