Nathan Brelsford Obituary
Born in Providence, a son of Wayne J. and Francine (Iannucci) Brelsford of Riverside, he lived in Riverside and Providence.
Mr. Brelsford served in Expeditionary Strike Force in Operation Iraqi Freedom for the United States Navy for the past 3 years. He served on the USS Wasp. LHD1, and was stationed in Norfolk, VA. Nathan received the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
Nathan was a graduate of the Metropolitan Technical Career Center Class of 2002. He enjoyed listening to music, watching movies and spending time with his family.
Besides his wife and parents; he is survived by two sons; Thomas W. Brelsford and Paul E. Brelsford at home, a sister; Jessica Brelsford of Providence, three nephews; Korey and Kevin Medeiros and Joseph Villavicencio of Providence, maternal grandparents; Albert and Antoinette Iannucci of Riverside, and paternal grandmother; Pauline Brelsford of Warwick. He was the grandson of the late William J. Brelsford.
His funeral will be held on Friday October 20, 2006 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Ave., Riverside at 9:15am with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Loreto Church, Waterman Ave., East Providence at 10:30am. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday 4-8pm. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Nathan's memory to the Nathan Brelsford Education Fund, c/o 80 Circuit Dr., Riverside, RI, 02915 would be deeply appreciated.

To Fran, Wayne and entire family,
I sincerely hope you get this before the day is out or someone prints it for you...
I am so sad for your loss. I'm sorry I didn't make it to the church; I saw Nathan's photo in the post and immediately recognized him by his smile befor I even read his name. My son Matt and Nathan were friends as they grew up on Circuit dr.Nathan gave so much in such a short time. I think of Nathan often. The one thing I most remember is what a great smile he had and how sweet of a kid he was. Matt thought a lot of him a friend and I pass my sympathies from him on to the both of you, his sister and his wife and children.

To Cynthia, family, and everyone that was frinds with Nate, In these times of complete shock and mourning I would like to celebrate Nate's life by saying that he was the funniest person I know as well as a sweetheart. I will never forget the times when I was showing the "city boy" all that the woods had to offer and when he would show this "country boy" all the cool spots in Providence. I'll never forget the time Jason Spivey, Nate and I were going canoeing and both of them dropped the canoe and screemed because there was a spider in it. These stories will keep Nate's spirit alive and keep us strong in such hard times. We are all so fortunate to have known such a funny, sweet person like Nate and I know that his spirit will continue to make me laugh and inspire me to carrie on that tradition.
Although I cannot be close physically, my thoughts and feelings are with you all.

I have such nice memories of Nate when he and Jay were at the Met. He was a great kid, and a good friend to Jay and all his classmates. I was also fotunate enough to have run into Nate several months ago, where I got a brief glimpse of what a wonderful young man he turned out to become. As a part of nathans family i know how hard it is to look at the doorway and to not see nathan walk through the door.. i just want to tell Fran, Wayne, My sister my family and nathans Family that we have to stay strong for those two little angels nathan left us as a part of him... and we all know nathan is looking down at us and smiling knowig that we will be okay, love and peace to everyone and my brother Nathan.
