Olympia Martin

MARTIN, OLYMPIA (TAVARES), 92, of Clark St., died Monday in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Abel Martin.

Born in Fall River, MA she was the daughter of the late Francisco and Maria (Arruda) Tavares. She lived most of her life in Cumberland. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland.

Mrs. Martin is survived by her daughter, Shirley Marceau and her husband Raymond and sons William and his wife Lora, and John and his wife Susan, all of Cumberland. Mrs. Martin also had eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and one great, great grandson. She was the sister of the late, Maria Silva, Rose Estrella, Eufrosina Medeiros, Angelina Tavares, Gilda Sousa, Francisco Tavares, Joseph Tavares, Arthur Tavares and Manuel Tavares.

Her funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt.122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Dr., Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
