Patrick Toomey Obituary
age 87, of Merritt Road, died October 11, 2017 at Tockwotton on the Waterfront with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Mary Anne (Andrews) Toomey. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late J. Michael and Helene (Sullivan) Toomey.
Patrick worked for Narragansett Electric for 35 years. He served our country during the Korean Conflict with the US Marine Corps.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by his children MaryAnn Leonardo (George) of Riverside, Joanne Nolan (Michael) of Bradenton, FL, Patrick Toomey (Kris) of Zionsville, PA, Michael Toomey (Susan) of Allentown, PA, Steven Toomey of Macungie, PA, Lynn Meng (Wayne) of Fogelsville, PA and 16 grandchildren. He was the brother of Catherine Lang of Smithfield, Eileen Scorobogaty of N. Scituate, Maureen McGovern of Greenville and Sheila Carnevale of N. Providence.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10am in St. Martha's Church, 2595 Pawtucket Ave. East Providence. Burial will be at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday from 5-8pm at the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway East Providence, RI.

TO THE TOOMEY FAMILY YOUR FATHER JOE LED ALL HIS CHILDREN DOWN THE Right PATH TO SUCCEED I WAS ONE OF JOES MAILMAN BUT ALL THE KIDS HAD MOVED ON. WHAT SURPRISED ME WAS I KNEW 3 OF HIS SISTERS FROM ROY CARPENTER BEACH. TUEY ARE MAREEN,KAY AND EILLINE WITU A WHOLE TRIBE OF KIDS.I NEW MAREEN SHE HAD A brother IN EAST PROVIDENCE BUT I DIDNT KNO IT WAS JOE.AS soon AS school GOT FOR THR SUMMER MY family THE JOYCE'S AND JOES SISTERS FAMILIES WOULD STAY AT THE BEACH TIL labor day BUT ABOUT 3 OR 4 TIMES ASUMMER ONE THE AUNTS WOULD SAY YOU HAVE TO BE A GOOD BOY TODAY BECAUSE MY BROTHER IS COMING TO THE BEACH HOUSE AND HES BRINGING HOTDOGS,HAMBURGERS AND WATERMELON BUT BACK THERE WERE AS MANY AUNCLES AS THERE WERE KIDS.MAURREEN ANK KAY WATERMELON TO TAKE CARE OF THERE MOTHER TOO BUT I FOGET IF SHE WAS GRANDMA TOOMEY OR NOTI ALSO REMEMBER TAKING THE ST MARTHAS BUS TO CATHOLIC SCHOOL WITH PAT AND HIS CFRW TO PROVIDENCE EVERYDAY.LIKE THEY SAY ITS A WORLD THERE IS ALOT OF RELITIVES LOVE AND GOD BLESS

My sincere condolences to all in the family. I remember Mr. Toomey well as he attended those Little League games as a supportive parent, back in the day. It was nice to see him attending games recently of grandchildren in the gym at EPHS.
