PAUL ARPIN Obituary
Mr. Arpin was the owner and chairman of the Arpin Group, which has grown into the 4th largest global moving company headquartered in the United States. He returned from WWII in 1945, as a D- Day survivor to rejoin the family business as a partner and extended the legacy to a 3rd generation.
Besides his wife he is survived by sons David and Peter, who continue as the 4th generation in the family business, and son Stephen, a daughter Patty; and grandchildren Abby, Devin, Meredith and Taylor. He was the father of the late Paul Arpin, Jr., who was also a veteran.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Fourth Ave., E. Greenwich. Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Calling hours Tuesday 5-8pm at The Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., E. Greenwich. In lieu of flowers donations to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank would be appreciated.

A good man i had pleasure to meet at Rhode island gym couple times i was out there loading and unloading shipments , Mr Arpin always made it a point to ask how i was doing and if i needed anything , with a hand shake by all rites a good fair Man thank you Mr Arpin for the jobs you gave me as well as the moving Memories, Steve Treadwell Western Relocations Anaheim CA and Also Mike Evens owner of western relo a father i never had also may they both rest in peace they had a lot to do with the man i am today

Being a part of the lives of your parents has been a blessing and a gift. Your Dad was a kind,warm, funny man that always made me feel loved. He always asked how the kids were and loved hearing stories of my childrens accomplishments. His giving heart was always worn on his sleeve. I loved that man... Your father was a great person and I remember during our meetings in his office when he needed something, he would always ask about my family and how my sons were doing. He loved his work, his family and his company and I enjoyed working for the Arpin Group. A FINE BALANCE THAT NO OTHER COULD ACCOMPLISH.I WORKED FOR ARPIN VAN LINES FOR MANY MANY YEARS AS A LOCAL DRIVER,OVER THE ROAD DRIVER, AND A DISPATCHER.I WATCHED AS THIS MAN TURNED A IDEA INTO A LEGACY AS HE TOOK HIS FAMILY NAME AND LAID IT ON THE LINE. HE TOOK HIS COMPANY FROM A NAME THAT NO ONE KNEW IN THE INDUSTRY AND MADE IT ONE OF THE TOP FIVE KNOWN MOVING COMPANIES IN THE WORLD. Every Sunday afternoon before opening Siena Cucina Enoteca in East Greenwich, I would hold a special table for Mr. & Mrs. Arpin before our restaurant opens in anticipation of his weekly call for a table for two. Like clockwork, Mr. Arpin would call one hour before his dinnertime and ask if a table was available for he and his wonderful wife to dine. Every week I would "oblige" and make his reservation for him.
Our staff truly enjoyed Mr. Arpin's company. From his funny jokes, to his menu item preferences, he was a delight to serve and chat with. He would tell me wonderful stories about his travels, & how he and his wife Peggy met on a chance meeting in New York.
From the bottom of my heart, I will truly miss Mr. Arpin's company every Sunday afternoon, as will the staff. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Arpin family at this difficult time.
