Philip Licis Obituary

LICIS, PHILIP, 53 of Providence passed away April 16, 2013. Born in Providence he was the son of the late Dr. Leo Licis and Aina (Kirsteins) Licis. He was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island Class of 1982 and a perpetual student of life. He worked at the Providence Center as an Addictions Therapist for the past 17 years. As a therapist he was dedicated and committed to assisting people to live healthy and spiritually sound lives. His love for work and people lead him toward global travel seeking greater understanding of the role of spirituality in healing and learning from Spiritual Masters in Tibet, the Himalayas, Indonesia, South America, Egypt and the United States earning a Master Healer Status. His alternative teachings and his spiritual presence impacted and inspired his family, friends and clients. Surviving his death are his family; Ivars and Sylvia Kirsteins of Cranston, RI; Andra Kirsteins of Cranston, RI; Ivars Kirsteins Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Wakefield; his brother Peter Licis and his wife Tambra of Tiverton and his longtime friends Dr. Lisa Bordeleau of North Attleboro, MA, and William Hochstrasser-Walsh of Warren, RI. His Memorial Service and visitation will be held Saturday May 4, 2013 in the Redwood Chapel at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Visitation from 10-11 a.m. followed by a non-denominational service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Providence Center 528 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904. My husband Manolo and I were his neighbors. I'm so sorry that the world has lost a sweet and gentle soul such as Philip Licis' My husband and I will miss his kind words and bright shining hearty 'hello's this summer as we will tend to his beloved fern garden for him. I will miss our conversations on my patio. My condolences to all his familly, friends and coworkers. RIP Philip, you were loved.
