My deepest condolences to the Jarvis family. Ray and Bobby were close friends from the old neighborhood. We shared the junior high school years at St. Pats and high school years at Hope. I often reflect on the countless good times- St. Pats baseball and basketball, pickup baseball at the State House, or just hanging out with the tribe.
Ray was a good basketball player too. Under his leadership we won the State CYO 8th grade championship. Ray was tournament MVP. We came close to winning the New England´s losing in the championship game to a team from CT. Ray was like a big brother to me. I always looked up to him. Most of all I will always remember Ray´s kindness and sense of humor. Rest in peace my friend.

To Jarvis Family
I had the pleasure of working with Ray at PC. He was a true gentlman and a great guy to be around. Ray was always up beat even during his battle with cancer. Ray never complained and despite his success was very humble. Ray you our missed very much among the guys/gals of the Safety and Security Dept.

Bob and the Jarvis family.
Please accept my condolences for your great loss.
As a Smith Hiller and St.Pats & Hope High grad, I can only confirm what a great person Ray was. As his catcher I can tell you what a great pitcher he was ! Ray was always very positive, and had a kind and friendly word for everyone. Over the years we have been very proud of him, and hope that RI never forgets what he accomplished in baseball and his personal legacy.
He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

To Sugar Bear and the Jarvis family.
My sincere condolences for your lost of Ray.
I first got to know Ray when he worked for PC, and I for the PFD. Wasnt hard to befriend Ray, because of his personality. We used to talk about things and the old neighborhood where we both grew up, Ray a little before me. Used to see each other by accident at times and really enjoyed our conversation. Always was so upbeat and cheerful. I will miss our casual encounters. He was a great man. always looked up to him. I used to say to him, that I have his baseball card. Still do to this day,
God bless

Ray and I spent considerable time over lunches at Applebee's in Smithfield, RI where we talked very positively (especially Ray) about how he was going to recover from his illness. He was so positive that he would make it, but alas, it didn't happen, and he is in a better place. He fought his great battle with amazing courage, and I loved and respected him for it. I know I'll see him some day. Old friend, Joe D
