Not sure what to say?

May 24, 2011

Anthony & Emily...I recently heard of the passing of your beloved dad. The memories I have of your family go beyond what words could say right now. My mom and dad Ida & John DeRenis, welcomed your parents into our old neighborhood on Glenbridge Ave and from that moment we all became like famly. Emily, when you were born, my mom had the honor of being your Godmother and she was so proud. I can remember your dad so well, and how funmy he was. He use to tease me alot and I thought he was just so cool. I use to baby sit for you and your brother and I loved being in that beautiful home and watching you both grow ....I was glad to see that he remarried as no one should be alone. Please know that some memories never die and I pray that your dad and mom are together in heaven and hopefully will see Ida and John there...God Bless you and your family and I will keep you all in my prayers.

Love,
Barbara DeRensis Rourke, Cranston, RI

To the Calandrelli Family i want to give my deepest sympathy for your loss. My mom Norma Gardner worked at american ring for many years since they were located in johnston. When they moved to east providence she went too. She loved working for Renato and Gino. They were very good to her. I know if she was here today she would be very sad. Thank you for being so good to my mom and again sorry for your loss.

To Gail,Anthony,Emily and the entire Calandrelli family,

The Entire De Luca family is deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved lifelong friend,Renato.

Our relationship began in Naples,Italy, and has endured for nearly eighty years.

Our respective fathers,Mr.Antonio Calandrelli, and Alfonso De luca, who courageoulsy left their beloved Naples,at the height of the battle for Naples in World War Two,secretly collaborated with the O.S.S.,to try to help the allies to bring an end to the destruction of their native soil.

To this end, they secretly left Italy in 1943,and successfuly completed their mission in Newport,Rhode Island by 1945.

Fortunately, our families rejoined our respective fathers after the war,and over the many years,we have continued a warm lelationship with Renato,Gail and the entire Calandrelli family.

In fact,in 1948,Renato,our dear neapolitan friend, John Russo(since deceased),and I joined the Rhode Island Army National Guard, from which Renato and I retired with over forty years of combined service.

Our deepest condolences from me,Ciro ,my wife,Olga,my sister Anna-Luisa Spadetti,my brother Anthony and wife, Sylvia, and the entire De Luca family.

Our friendship will endure far beyond our temporary wordly existence, carissimo amico,Renato.

For now,Addio!
