Robert DiRUZZO

DiRUZZO, ROBERT
77, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of the late Virginia (Spirito) DiRuzzo and the father of the late Robert Louis DiRuzzo. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Arduino DiRuzzo and Adelina (Paris) DiRuzzo.
Robert worked for 27 years as a school teacher and assistant principal for the Providence School Department until his retirement in 2001. Robert was a Master Sergeant in the United States Army Reserve until his retirement in 2000. He was also a part-time barber at Rico's Barber Salon where he enjoyed working beside his older brother Americo for 50 years. Robert loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed watching the New England Patriots. He loved to sing to the music of his favorite artist, Frank Sinatra.
He is survived by his twin brother Ronald DiRuzzo; his sons, Michael DiRuzzo and his wife Carmela Falco-DiRuzzo, and Paul DiRuzzo and his wife Erin; his daughters, Marisa Nardo and her husband Martino, and Dina Silvaggio. He also leaves behind two granddaughters, Diana DiRuzzo and Virginia Nardo. He was the brother of the late Americo DiRuzzo, Anthony DiRuzzo, Gina Aurelio, Ida Schanze and Anna Boschetti.
His funeral will be held Thurdsay, August 31, 2017 at 9 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 4th St, North Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
