Robert Towne

TOWNE, ROBERT R., 82, passed away April 3, 2012 after a long battle with the debilitating effects of diabetes. He died peacefully at Summit Commons Nursing Center in Providence surrounded by his family and able caregivers. Robert was born in Oak Park, IL, and was one of three children, living most of his early life in Massachusetts and his latter life a resident of Riverside, RI. Robert is a graduate of North Eastern University, served 9 years in the Air Force Reserves stationed at Hanscom Field, and spent his entire working career serving in various management roles in the New England Insurance Industry. Robert was married to the late Rose Lenore (Watson) Towne, raising five children, Matthew A. Towne of Richmond, Kenneth E. Towne of Riverside, the late Robin L. Towne Uribe, Stephen R. Towne of Riverside and David S. Towne also of Riverside. He also leaves 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. His funeral service will be held Saturday at 1pm in the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence. Calling hours will be Saturday prior to the service, 10am until 1pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
