I'm deeply saddened. I didn't know of Stephen's passing until this morning at 2:00 AM, when I typed his name into my web browser. He came to mind, as he sometimes did, during the wee hours of the morning as I lay restless in bed, uncomfortable from spasms and pain that goes along with Multiple Sclerosis.

I don't know why he came to mind, he just did. When I saw him last, he wasn't well. I vowed to come by and see him. I wasn't able to.

Stephen was bright, witty, funny, arrogant, smart, articulate, confrontational - all qualities that made him a wonderful attorney and advocate for his fellow man.

We'll miss you Stephen. Susan, my thoughts are with you.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Steve's death whe I attended the 45th reunion of our class at Providence College this past weekend. Steve helped me on several occasions when I was at PC and I'm sorry I never had a chance to thank him after graduation. My deepest condolences to the Famiglietti family.

To all Famiglietti Family,
We just heard yesterday about Stephens passing and we are heart broken. Oh, how much we loved him!
The last thing Stephen said to us was, "thank you for giving me back my faith." So at least we know he is happy in Heaven. I am glad now I told him also, about the dream. The dream that apparently came true.
Stephen was a rare soul. One that didn't go with the crowd. He had integrity and guts. Courage to do the RIGHT thing, no matter what the consequences were. There is only a few like him. He took the narrow and bumpy road, not the wide and smooth road. He sought the TRUTH.
Thank you Stephen for helping us with our case. You could of done the WRONG thing, like so many others, but you DIDN'T. And for that we are eternally grateful.

Wow. had a dream about Steven last night he was telling me how he could help me with my case. and we where in a convertible car driving. and he is explaining everything. Woke up this morning to think I could just call him. and just found out he passed last december. I guess this is a sign that some people as so good they go on forever through their work. Hope I remember all of his good ideas.

Steve and I first met in 1980 at the "old AG's Office" in the courthouse. As others have said, Steve was one of the most brilliant lawyers I have ever met, yet he also was unpretentious and had the mind of a comedian. Whenever I hear Billy Joel's "You May Be Right", I invariably think of Steve and start laughing. Please know that Steve and all his loved ones are in my thoughts and prayers.

After hearing of Steve's passing I just can't stop thinking of the crazy stuff we did back when we were young. I'll always remember Steve as one of the craziest, nuttiest and funniest kids that I ever hung out with. Still makes me laugh! He was the king of shock!

I am so sorry to hear of Stephen's passing. I am grateful that I finally was able to meet him a few years back at a fundraiser and made him laugh when I told him that I was so excited, as I had been waiting 30 years to tell him that as a student at Salve Regina in the early 80's, while he was trying vonBulow in Newport, I received many phone calls from people from all over the country with "important information" for him. It certainly made a college sophomore feel important!! Prayers for Stephen and his family and may he rest in peace.
