Virginia E. Butler 94, formerly of East Greenwich R.I passed away December 21, 2018 at South Kingstown Nursing and Rehab in West Kingston R.I. She was the daughter of the late Robert Pierce and the late Nina Easton Pierce. She was the wife of the late Francis H. Butler and mother of the late Peter E. Butler. She is survived by a grand daughter Emily Lima and her husband Jeremy Lima and two great grandchildren Noah and Scarlet Lima of North Carolina. Virginia was a technical order writer at ITT Hammel Dahl in Warwick for 25 years before retiring. She was an active member of the Academy Players club in Providence where she performed in many plays. She participated in East Greenwich Leisure Learning club, E.G Art club and the Narragansett Art club as well. She was an active member of St. Luke's Church in East Greenwich for many years where she served as a liscenced Eucharistic Minister and a Lay Reader. Calling hours will be held at Hill Funeral Home 822 Main Street East Greenwich on December 28 from 6-8pm. A funeral will be held at St. Luke's Church on December 29th at 10:00 am with a burial to follow at Quidnesset cemetery in North Kingstown. In lieu of flowers to the East Greenwich Animal Protection League.
