William Houston Obituary

HOUSTON, WILLIAM S.
passed away peacefully in his sleep at Berkshire Place Nursing and Rehab Center, in Providence, RI on February 26, 2021. He had only been a patient there for a few days. Born May 22, 1927 in Providence RI and served proudly in the US Coast Guard during WW II. He was a student athlete at Brown University. Prior to his retirement in 2005 he worked for American Universal Insurance. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Louise Houston and his only sibling John W. (Jack) Houston.
He is survived by his son Douglas (Louise) Houston, who lives in Pittsburgh, PA and his long-term companion Zoraida Laniefasky, Darlington Assisted Living, Pawtucket, RI. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Jones-Walton-Sheridan Funeral Home, Cranston, RI. There will be no visitation. A private service will be held at the funeral home. Internment will be at Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Darlington Assisted Living, 123 Armistice Blvd, Pawtucket, RI 02860. Visit:JWSFH.COM

Bill is a dear friend. He is very kind and generous. We have a lot of fond memories with him. May he rest in peace! May all the wonderful memories that he left behind help Aida and his family overocome their sorrow in this difficult time.
