Just learned of Bill's passing yesterday and was heartbroken. He and his work as an orthotist came highly recommended when we moved to RI 8 years ago,and we were fortunate to have him craft several of my son's AFO's. What I loved about Bill most, however, was his genuine caring, his calm and comforting demeanor. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

To Bill's Loving Family,

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy and sadness for Bill's passing. I met Bill at Hasbro Children's Rehab when my son was just diagnosed with cerebral palsy. My son is now 10. Bill made every pair of AFOs my son has worn. He was always smiling and warm and kind. My son didn't love being fitted for his braces and often made that known. Bill would just laugh and say, "C'mon Trev. You know this doesn't hurt." While he was working on casting, Trev would play with his hair and Bill would just laugh and allow him to because he knew my guy was finding comfort in doing so. He will remain in our hearts and our minds as he made this special needs journey so much brighter whenever we were in his presence. No doubt the angels lit his way straight to Heaven! Praying happy memories will be you peace and comfort.

Please accept my condolences on your loss. I have known Bill for as long as I can remember when first starting out as a PT. He was always so caring, patient, and willing to share his knowledge. We as therapists were fortunate to have known and worked with Bill as were all his clients that benefited from his services. He truly was "one of a kind". Thoughts and prayers to Bill's family to help you through this difficult time.

We will miss Bill greatly. He fit my daughter Maddie for her first set of afo's when she was 5, 16 years ago, and he was adjusting her current pair a just a few months ago. Bill was such a good example of how to use the skill you have, work hard, and show compassion at the same time. We know Bill is well now, but we will pray for his family who will miss him so very much.

May 20, 2015

To Bill's wife and son; family and friends,

Please accept our deepest condolences on Bill's passing. He worked with our son Patrick on several occasions in our home and in his office. He was always very kind and extremely knowledgeable yet so humble. His confident work ethic, quick wit and quiet charm always put his smallest clients - and in turn, their parents at ease. He was a treasure to our community that will surely be missed by all.
Sincerely,
The Wingate Family

It is with a heavy, heavy heart that I send my sincere condolences to Bill's family. I had the honor of working with Bill for 15 years through Hasbro~ I remember vividly the huge smile when he spoke of his own son and family and watched him care for and love all those he encountered at the hospital. The kids adored him and we as the therapists had an enormous trust in his expertise and business demeanor. A huge loss for the community, words just cannot express. I pray you can find strength in the legacy he has left behind...

It is with deep sadness that I express my condolences. I had the absolute pleasure to work with Bill as a physical therapist. He was a true asset to the therapeutic community in RI. I once asked one of my students who his favorite person at school was, fully expecting him to say I was, and he said "Mr. Bill"! When I had the opportunity to tell Bill that little story, he chuckled but didn't say any else of it. He was humble in his work. The special needs children in RI are better because he touched their lives. So many of my kids can walk because he gave them feet. I am better because I was able to learn for him. He will be greatly missed.

Bill has done so much for my son, ever since he got his first A.F.O. When he was only 3. He just went to his school to adjust his brace a couple weeks ago. Isaac loved him! He was so sad to hear of this, we were expecting to see him again soon. Bill did so much for kids everywhere, this is going to leave a huge hole in the communities he worked in. I can't even imagine what you, his family, are going through, and I'm so heartbroken for you. So grateful for everything he's done over the years.

Maria and family,

Words cannot explain how sorry I am for your loss. Bill was such a talented orthotist, never afraid to take on the most challenging of cases. He always did what was best for the patients and shared his knowledge with all who worked in collaboration with him. I am so appreciative of the time I had to work with him; he is truly one of the best. His presence, knowledge, skill and passion for his trade will be missed by our medical community and the thousands of patients and families he served.

Our deepest condolences to Billy's loved ones. We had known him since childhood and got re-acquainted again 12 years ago through his kind assistance to our son, who he fit for braces. He was always so kind and patient in helping our son, who is now a terrific athlete, in large part because Billy enabled him to walk. In fact, Billy just fitted our son with a new brace and was as wonderful as ever. His loss will be felt deeply by the many children and parents he has helped through the years, especially us.
