James Travis Obituary

James Dale Travis, 66, of Reynoldsville, passed away Nov. 15, 2023, at his home.
He was born on July 30, 1957, in DuBois the son of the late Nolan and Olive Marie (Manners) Travis.
James was a self-employed logger. He worked for various companies in the area including Penn Lines, Gear Tree Service and Summit Logging. He was a handyman for various friends and family
He was a member of the St. Joseph's Polish Society, Walston Club and the Eagles. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors with his friends and family.
James was a proud father and grandfather.
He is survived by his two daughters, Alicia Travis of Punxsutawney and Emily Hyskell and husband Lorne of Scenery Hill, and a grandson, Theodore Hyskell; three brothers, Ken Travis of Reynoldsville, Rick Travis and wife Tammy of Punxsutawney, and Terry Travis and partner Deloris Gibson of Reynoldsville; and five sisters, Carol Gaston and husband Ed of Rochester Mills, Nancy Hicks of Rochester Mills, Patricia Lingerfelter and partner Ron "Mac" McHenry of Falls Creek, Beverly Hale of Punxsutawney, and Donna Sears of Punxsutawney.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and Gary Travis.
To honor Jim's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. He wanted the memories of him to be happy ones.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
