Lois Pearce Obituary

Lois G. Pearce, 77 of Punxsutawney, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, at her home.
She was born Nov. 16, 1944, to Ralph and Velma (White) Cressley in Juneau.
Lois was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and attended the Valley Chapel United Methodist Church in Juneau. She was a pastor's wife for 50 years. She was active in all churches that her husband was pastoring but was currently active at the Valley Chapel United Methodist in Juneau. Lois read the children's message on Sunday mornings and led the Sunday prayer meetings. She was head of decorating for all holidays at the church, helped with Vacation Bible School and recently went on a disaster relief trip to Louisiana.
Lois was all about Christmas. She would start decorating her home at the start of November. She enjoyed decorating for Christmas, watching Hallmark Christmas movies and reading Christmas books and stories. She even opened her home to the public to show off her Christmas decorations.
In the spring and summer, Lois was tending to her flower beds. She enjoyed crafts, and at one time owned her own craft store. Lois did many things throughout her life, but most of all she was proud of her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Valerie (Pearce) Powell and husband Chris, Millersport, Ohio; three sons, Matt Pearce and wife Amanda, Punxsutawney, John Pearce and wife Katalin, Columbus, Ohio, and Michael Pearce and wife Brittany, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Christina Pearce, Kayla Pearce, Kyan Pearce, Peyton Pearce, Hailey Pearce and Koby Pearce; two brothers, Fred Cressley, and Boyd Cressley and wife Nancy; five sisters, Norma "Teckie" Riddle and husband Ham, Carol "Cook" Michaels and Bill, Linda Farmery, Jackie Temchulla and husband Terry, and Pam Sprankle and husband Doug; and too many, many nieces
and nephews to name: "You know those Cressley's!"
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. Joseph Pearce, in 2017; an infant son, Timothy Pearce; and two brothers, Merle "Bub" and Gene Cressley.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the McCabe Funeral Home Inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767. A funeral service will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. at Valley Chapel United Methodist Church, 3825 Juneau Road, Punxsutawney, PA 15767, with Rev. Janet Chipless, Rev. Bob Donato, Rev. Jerry Carpenter and Rev. Scott Henry officiating.
Graveside services will follow at Union Hill Cemetery, Rossiter.
