Robert Clontz Obituary

Robert Lee Clontz, Jr., 68, of Rossiter, passed away peacefully at his home on Sept. 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on Jan. 13, 1957, in Punxsutawney, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Clontz, Sr. and Betty Jane (Bishop) Clontz, who survives.
On July 26, 1997, Bobby married the love of his life, Lisa Ann Kerr, at a special tree they had discovered in Sinnemahoning State Park. The tree, later named "The Arch Tree," has now become a beloved landmark for those who visit the park. Together, they shared a life filled with love and adventure.
Bobby was a devoted father to his daughter, Angel. She was the light of his life, and the bond they shared was a constant source of joy for both of them. Some of Angel's most cherished memories are of the time spent with her dad, building swimming holes in Berge Run - moments that captured Bobby's playful and loving spirit.
He worked alongside his father at Clontz Auto Repair for many years. He later took on a meaningful role delivering meals to senior citizens for the Jefferson County Area Agency on Aging. Bobby's commitment to his work was always about more than just the task at hand - he took the time to connect with his customers and friends, always willing to lend a helping hand. His generosity, kindness and genuine spirit touched the lives of many.
Bobby had a lifelong passion for the outdoors. In his younger years, he enjoyed dirt bike and motorcycle riding, often attending motocross races at High Point and Steel City. He also loved hunting on the family farm, spending countless hours in nature. Bobby had a special bond with dogs and you could often find him walking his companions. Peanut, his last dog, was willed to him by one of the ladies whom he delivered meals to, as she knew he would take wonderful care of her beloved pet. He cherished trips to Potter County, where he stayed at The Brick Camp, enjoying the peaceful solitude of the mountains. Bobby often set up his telescope to watch the stars or observe a bald eagle in flight.
Bobby loved music and attending concerts throughout his life. He enjoyed playing board games with his family and rarely said no to a good game of Sorry. Bobby had a love for photography, as he found beauty in everyday life. His photos are a lasting testament to his appreciation for life's special moments, whether big or small. These were moments he treasured most when shared with his family.
In addition to his wife, Lisa, Bobby is survived by his daughter, Angel (Colton) Barrett, of Punxsutawney; his sister, Jayne (Ron) Shaffer, of Rossiter; and his brother, Terry (Rich) Clontz, of Pittsburgh. He is also survived by his nieces, Jenilee Wright, of Rossiter, and Kelly (Ryan) Nanni, of Indiana, as well as his great-nieces and nephew, Emilee Wright, Colin Nanni and Vivian Wright, and numerous cousins.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Clontz, Sr., and his in-laws, Fred and Jean Kerr. He was also preceded by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to 365 Hospice for their compassionate care, love and support during Bobby's final days. Lisa also wishes to thank her work family for all their love and support.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Bobby, to the Firework Fund at Rossiter Volunteer Fire Company at P.O. Box 258 Rossiter, PA 15772.
