John HINRICHS Obituary

JOHN HINRICHS John Thomas Hinrichs, 69, died May 2, 2012. He is survived by his wife Melinda and their son Nathan; his brothers Craig, Roy & Guy Hinrichs; his aunts Pat Dixon and Alaine Calloway; and seven nieces and nephews. John was born in Miami Beach, Fla. in 1942 to Col. Claire and Marie Hinrichs (deceased). John lived in such wonderful places from China to Newfoundland. He graduated high school on Long Island, NY, and went on to Baylor University in Texas. He proudly served in the Army from 1964-1966, and then settled in Riverside, Cal. He and Melinda met there and were married in 1972. They moved to Pahrump in 1978, where they owned THE PERFECT GIFT SHOP for the next 17 years. After closing the business, John worked in Las Vegas and had just retired last year. He was an avid follower of Fox News and many on-line news sites. If you needed to know what was happening in the world, he was the answer man. He belonged to the NRA and proudly supported many veteran causes and charities. He died very suddenly from a complication following surgery. He and Melinda were to celebrate their 40th anniversary next month. He was Melinda's best friend and Nathan's hero. He was loving, kind, and a true gentleman. He will be missed beyond words. A private memorial will be scheduled.
