Beverly Joan Harper, 84, passed away on May 16, 2024, at Harmony Utica Ridge in Davenport, IA.
Bev was born on June 8, 1939, in Moline, IL, to parents Everett Edwin and Edna (Sexton) Wildermuth. She married Richard Harper, who preceded her in death on October 8, 2022.
She graduated from Moline High School in 1957 and attended Eureka College. Bev taught in Atlanta, GA, for a couple of years and served on the Board of Directors at Eastern Iowa Light & Power Cooperative from 1994-1997. Additionally, Beverly was a member of the First Christian Church in Moline, IL. She was also an elder, a substitute teacher, and a chairman of the board. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Bettendorf, IA.
Bev liked to read and had many animals at their country home. She enjoyed and was involved in politics and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends and going out to eat.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Harper, WA; son, Richard Harper, CA; and a brother, Ronald (Charlene) Wildermuth, Cypress Springs, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
A private service will be held at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, Illinois. The inurnment will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Edgewood Baptist Church.
