EAST MOLINE-Christopher "Chris" L. Vande Walle, 57, of East Moline, passed away Monday, June 26, 2023, at Genesis East in Davenport.

Visitation will be, Sunday, July 2, from 2pm to 4pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave, Rock Island. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Monday, July 3, 2023, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Chippiannock Cemetery. Memorials may be made to QC Paws (4001 78th Avenue Moline, IL) or in care of the family. Those who own a motorcycle and will be at the service are encouraged to ride in the procession to the cemetery.

Chris was born on December, 15, 1965, in Moline, to Marcel and Gwenith (Jay) Vande Walle. He married Lynda Miller. She preceded him in death in 2009. He recently reconnected with his high school sweetheart, Amy, and they cherished each other greatly until the end. Chris worked as a carpenter for 25 years and would work on anything from concrete to wood. He later worked at Sivyer Steel as a machine maintenance worker.

Chris loved to bowl and was on several local and state boards that hosted bowling tournaments. He also enjoyed fishing and cooking, especially grilling outside. He had a passion for his motorcycle. Saturday night was the night for poker with the guys and he always made sure to make it. Chris was an avid Cubs fan.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Gwen, Moline; siblings, Randy (Laurie) Vande Walle, Alaska, and Gail Hall, Moline; partner, Amy Dobbelare, Moline; many nieces and nephews, and a host of great friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marcel.
