ROCK ISLAND-Gareld A. Danielson, 77, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity, Rock Island. There will be no in-person services or visitation. A live-stream tribute will be broadcast at 1 pm Monday, November 23, 2020 by visiting www.wheelanpressly.com/milan-live-stream. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to the Gift of Hope Organ and Tissue Donor Network at 425 Spring Lake Drive, Itasca, IL 60143 or to the Children's Hospital of Illinois at OSF-Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
Gareld was born to James and Margaret Carothers Danielson on June 9, 1943 in Rock Island. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1961. He was united in marriage to Judith Johnson on February 8, 1964. Never afraid of hard work, he always took care of his loved ones and retired from Case New Holland in 2001.
In 2001, Gareld was given the ultimate gift of a new life. He received a heart transplant that allowed him to meet a new grandchild and care for his mother through her 107th birthday. He was a faithful son, husband, father and grandfather.
Gareld is survived by his wife, Judith Danielson, Rock Island; daughter, Lori Danielson of Rock Island and her son, Samuel Ferry of Indianapolis, Ind.; son, Scott (Sonya) Danielson and their son, Noah, all of Bloomington, Ill. and their daughter, Zoey of Chicago; and many much-loved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Marjorie and Leroy Johnson; brother, Duaine Carlson and sister-in-law, Marie; his sister, Beverly Allers and brother-in-law, Russell; and his niece, Kathy Carlson.

I remember he was on the waiting list for a new heart and was called to Peoria in the middle of the night for a heart from a donar. (young man that died in a car accident) . I worked with Gerald at Case IH. I hope Judy is doing ok.....Ed
