Jerome F. Cacari Jr., 82, Silvis (IL), passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023.
Visitation will be at 10 am on Tuesday, March 21st followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Burial with military honors will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island following the funeral. Memorials may be made to the family and will be donated to a non-profit organization in his honor.
Jerome was born April 14, 1940 in Horton, Kansas. A graduate of United Township High School, Jerome earned his varsity letter in wrestling. In 1960, Jerome proudly enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He married Mary Lou Small in 1976. Jerome lived out his passion of fixing and working on cars while employed at Auto Zone. He had a deep love for music and an uncanny sense of humor.
Jerome is survived by his daughter, Jolene (Michelle) Ramsey-Moody, his two sisters Ramona Cacari (Lawrence) Stone and Rose (Erachio) Valdivia, multiple stepchildren, grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a great-great child.
He is preceded in death by his parents Geronimo and Maria Cacari, spouse Mary Lou Cacari and siblings Elizabeth (Henry) Reyes, Max (Irene) Cacari, Jack (Benny) Cacari, Georgia (Rudy) Rocha, Lupe (Ray) Urrutia, Pete Cacari, Theresa Cruz, Paul A. Cacari and stepdaughter Christyne White.
