MOLINE-Joseph Carpio Sr., 92, of Moline passed away February 27, 2022, at Davenport Lutheran Home. Visitation will be 10-11 am Monday, March 7, 2022, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Committal services will follow at St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline at 11:30 am.
Joseph was born January 19, 1930 in East Moline, son of Pedro and Mary (Perez) Carpio. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Margaret Segobiano. He retired from International Harvester, East Moline, where he had been an overhead crane operator. He enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors are his son, Joseph (Laurie) Carpio Jr, Bettendorf, IA; grandchildren: Philip Carpio, San Diego, CA, Brittney (Jordan) Garvey, San Diego and Payton Carpio, Maysville, IA, Larry (Nicole) Snyder, Los Angeles, CA , sisters: Margaret "Mickey" Mayer, East Moline, Joannie Hurt of Moline, Lupe Reese, San Antonio, TX, Terry DeFauw, East Moline; and many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret; son, Richard, and his brothers, Chuck, Walt, Frank, Robert, Tony, Jesse, and Bob.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
