Karla Anderson Budd, 86, of Cape Girardeau, Mo. died Friday, January 30, 2026 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau surrounded by her family.

She was born October 12, 1939 in Beardstown, Ill. to Alfred and Mabel Crews King.

She was married to Wendell Anderson. He preceded her in death. She then later married James Budd. He preceded her in death.

Karla enjoyed playing cards with her family, reading, puzzles, watching basketball and traveling.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Anderson of Warsaw, Mo. and Mike (Patti) Anderson of Gerald, Mo.; a daughter, Susan Poe of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; two brothers, Dennis King of Boscobel, Wisc. and Dwaine King of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; two sisters, Iris Swanson of Geneseo, Ill., Lora Ann Botts of Escondido, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; husband; and her grandson, Derek Jackson.

A Celebration of Life will be 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 28, 2026 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1001 9th street, Orion, IL 61273. Private burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in Orion, Ill.
