Kenneth "Kenny" M. Hitchcock

October 23, 1944 - June 30, 2025

Kenneth "Kenny" M. Hitchcock, 80, of Andalusia, Ill., passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025, at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island, Ill.

Funeral services for Mr. Hitchcock will be 12 p.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, Ill., where military honors will be presented by the Milan American Legion Post No. 569. Visitation will be from 10 a.m., until the time of the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Private inurnment will be in the Andalusia Cemetery. Memorials may be made to family.

Kenny was born on October 23, 1944, in Peoria, a son of Leroy and Helen (Sutton) Hitchcock. He married Karen Scott Green on July 30, 1988, in Springfield, Ohio. Kenny worked at the Rock Island Farmall Plant until it closed. He then worked as a correctional officer for two years at the Rock Island County Sheriff's Office, until he was called back to Navistar in Springfield, Ohio. He later retired from Navistar as a supervisor in 1994. Kenny then worked part-time for Arnold Motors in Rock Island and Moline from 2006 to 2020 until he retired.

Kenny was a member of the 15th Avenue Christian Church, Rock Island, and a member of UAW Local No. 1309, Rock Island, where he had served as president for five years. He was also a member of the Friends Circle Club, Moline. Kenny enjoyed collecting antique Farmall-International tractors. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren. Kenny was active for over 30 years in democratic politics in Rock Island County. He was an avid fisherman. Kenny was a United States Marine Corps veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Karen; children, Kenton (Jody) Hitchcock, Troy (Laura) Green and LaDon (Brian) Donohoe; grandchildren, Tyler (Nicole) Green, Spencer Green, Emily Green, JR (Natalie) Nott, Kolton Hitchcock, Grace DeVrieze, Christian Lannan, and Caitlin (Tyler) Eaton; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Brandon, Paisley, Caden, Bryleigh, Abel, Rayna, Ezekiel, and Cayden; siblings, Clyde (Brenda) Hitchcock, Larry (Teresa) Hitchcock, John (Debbie) Hitchcock, Cathy Hitchcock, and Becky Hitchcock.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Lillian, an infant sister, Robin, Esther, Patrick, and Arthur.
