Marlan "Moe" K. Molinelli
January 22, 2021
Marlan K. Molinelli "Moe", 91, passed to eternal rest on January 22, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley. He was also preceded in death by his parents John & Amanda, brother John & sister-in-law Agnes and his mother-in-law Hazel Ross whom he loved as if she was his own mother. He is survived by his 2 daughters Gayla Molinelli and her husband David Kepler of Harrisburg, PA and Marla Molinelli of Chicago, IL. He was the best Pops to 1 grandson Bryan Bush and his wife Leslie of Chicago.
He attended Rock Island High School where he was catcher on the baseball team. He also attended Augustana College. Moe served as an Army medic in Germany during the Korean War. He held a variety of jobs including working at his family meat market, on the railroad, and as a deputy sheriff. Moe's primary career was with several life insurance companies which he helped start in Iowa, Colorado, Florida and Pennsylvania. He ended his career as CEO of United Republic Life Insurance Company that was later purchased by Monumental Life of Baltimore.
He volunteered with many charitable organizations such as the Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent DePaul Society, the Dauphin County Library System, Messiah College, and he delivered food to St. Francis of Assisi Church and Bethesda Mission.
Moe loved to tell stories and jokes and certainly had the gift to gab. His family collected many of his witty remarks as "Moeisms."
He lived a full, blessed and long life traveling to every continent with family and friends, golfing at some of the best golf courses, fishing, and hunting deer, bear, ducks & geese in his favorite spots. But what he loved the most were his 3 girls-Shirley, his beloved wife of 55 years, and his 2 daughters Gayla and Marla. He would do anything for them, and always did. He could often be seen at Resurrection Cemetery "talking" to Shirley for the past 14 years though he said she never responded! He missed her so much.
His viewing will take place one hour prior to his 11 am funeral Mass at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 6150 Allentown Blvd in Harrisburg on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. The Reverend Edward Quinlan will celebrate the Mass. Moe will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his memory to Holy Name of Jesus' capital campaign.
Holy Name of Jesus does not live stream funeral Masses.

So very sad to hear of the passing of Mr. Molinelli. I knew Marlin from his visits to First Impressions and his trips to Costco, where I worked. He was such a dear, sweet man...always smiling, upbeat and having a story or joke to tell. He never ceased to make you some or laugh. It was always such a joy to see him and I will miss that. I know he loved his daughters dearly. My deepest sympathy to his daughters and family. He will surely be missed by many.
