Michael "Rick" Rowan

August 15, 1952 - June 22, 2025

Michael "Rick" Rowan, 72, of Rapids City passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025 at his daughter's home in Port Byron.

A memorial visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.

Rick was born August 15, 1952 in Moline, Ill. the son of Richard "Fig" and Janie Ferkel Rowan. He married Geraldine Witte October 23, 1973. She passed away July 11, 2009. Rock retired from Case IH after 32 years. He also worked in the summers laying blacktop with his good friend Bill Humphrey. He enjoyed his retirement, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his mother, Janice Rowan; son Ryan Rowan of Rapids City; daughter Bree (David) Wolf of Port Byron; grandchildren Dylan Rowan and Abbie Wingert; one great granddaughter on the way; brothers Tom Rowan of Silvis and Todd Rowan of Colorado; sisters Judy Krogman of Rock Island and Mary Jo Johnson of Moline.

Rick was preceded in death by his father, wife, and grandmother Bertha.
