Nancy Beck Obituary
November 18, 1940 - December 9, 2024
Nancy Nadeane Beck (Manners) passed away peacefully on Monday, December 9th, in Aledo, IL, at the age of 84.
She was born November 18th, 1940, in Winnebago, MN, to Harold and Gladys Manners. Nancy was raised along with her older sisters Alta and Doris along the shores of the beautiful lakes of western Minnesota. She grew up helping to run her family's fishing camp and guide service.
After high school, Nancy moved to eastern South Dakota and worked there when mutual friends introduced her to Jerome L. Beck, "Jerry." They were married on July 27th, 1962. When Jerry took a job in the Quad Cities, they moved to Illinois and stayed, raising their three sons.
Nancy enjoyed painting, bowling, dining out, and playing cards with friends in their card club.
Jerry preceded her in death in 1999. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law John and Judy Beck of Milan, IL, Mike and Jan Beck of Westminster, CO, and Rob and Deena Beck of Opheim, IL. She had eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many bonus step-grands and great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Friday, December 27th, at Wendt Funeral Home from 9 -11 am with an 11 o'clock memorial service. Burial will follow at the Rock Island National Cemetery, where Jerry is interred as a USN veteran.
