Nancy Anne Holstrom Werbach

September 13, 1940 - August 26, 2024

Nancy Anne Holstrom Werbach, 83, of Mexico, Missouri passed away peacefully on August 26, 2024, at the King's Daughters Home in Mexico, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 13, at the First Presbyterian Church in Mexico, Missouri. Pastor Micah McNeal will be officiating. A luncheon will be held at The Oaks, 1801 E. Liberty Street, Mexico, MO immediately following the service. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery in Cambridge, Illinois at a date to be determined.

Nancy was born on September 13, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Carl A. and Margaret Walters Holstrom. She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1958. She attended Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Home Economics in 1963. She married Bruce A. Werbach on June 27, 1965 in Geneseo, Illinois.

She spent her professional career as a teacher of junior high and high school Home Economics. Her teaching career spanned five decades. During those years, she spent large amounts of her free time as a Girl Scout leader, Student Council sponsor and Sunday School teacher. She was a proud P.E.O. for 53 years, an avid crafter, knitter and volunteer. No one had a bigger heart than Nancy, she was always willing to help, encourage or just have a kind word for someone in need. She was exceptionally proud of her family, especially her grandchildren.

Those surviving are her two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and J. Kent Lowry, Jefferson City, Missouri, and Jill and Dennis L. Molli II, Columbia, Missouri; grandchildren, Aislinn Gauchay, Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Samuel Molli, Birmingham, Alabama, and Margaret Molli, Fayetteville, Arkansas; and a great-granddaughter, Quenne Gauchay. Other survivors include a brother, Edgar (Rebecca) Holstrom, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her husband, Bruce Werbach; her mother, Margaret; and her father, Carl Holstrom proceeded her in death.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the King's Daughters Home, 620 West Boulevard Street, Mexico, Missouri 65265 or the charity of the donor's choice.
