Robert "Bob" William Anderson, 70, of Moline, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022 in Moline. A celebration of his life will be Friday, July 29, 2022 from 4 to 8 pm at the East End Bolders Club, 3712 4th Avenue, Moline, IL His final resting place will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL at a later date. Bob was born in Rock Island on February 27, 1952. He was the son of Richard William and Jane Eleanor (High) Anderson. After high school, he served in the Army and afterward, attended the University of Florida which he was a huge fan of. He worked for VA, John Deere, US Post Office and retired from the Rock Island Arsenal after many years of service.
He was a member of the QC Parrot Head Club and the Svithoid Club. He was an avid fan of sports, including the Red Sox and Cubs, and loved to coach and umpire for baseball and softball games, including for his own children's teams. He loved telling stories and never had met a stranger.
Those left to honor his memory include his children: Jason (Andrea) Anderson, Colona, IL, Jamie Anderson (Troy Benedict), Moline, Katie J. Anderson, Moline, grandchildren: Danny and Allison Laird, Alysia and Whitney Anderson and Bryce and Tyler Benedict, siblings: Gary (Marlene) Anderson, St. Petersburg, FL, and Nancy Villmer, Seminole, FL; sister-in-law, Linda Anderson, Clearwater, FL, nieces/nephews: Jenny (Chaunzay) Horne, Eric, Kaycee and James Anderson and several great nieces and nephews. His parents, brother, Rick , niece Amanda Villmer and brother-in-law, Mike Villmer preceded him in death.
