September 3, 1945 - September 5, 2025
Roger L. Baylor, 80, of Moline, passed away Friday, September 5, 2025 at his home.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st St A, Moline with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Milledgeville High School FFA in Roger's name.
Roger was born September 3, 1945, in Sterling, Ill., the son of George and Marie (Iler) Baylor. He married Alberta Peters on September 5, 1965, in Milledgeville, Ill. He later married Mary Schroeder on January 2, 1993, in Moline.
Roger was a longtime Dairy Farmer in Milledgeville, Ill. and later retired as Quality Assurance Supervisor at Tyson Foods, Joslin, Ill.
Roger was a member of Milledgeville Brethren Church.
Roger was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milledgeville Missiles and Moline Maroons. He was a strong advocate for women's sports and loved attending family events.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; children, Shelly (Jim) Parks, Milledgeville, Ill., Sandra (Chad) Schmidt, Milledgeville, Ill., Scott Grimes, Loxely, Ala. and Carrie (Lee) Trevino, Columbus Junction, Iowa; sister-in-law, Sue Schroeder; niece, Meg Schroeder; grandchildren, Justin (Kelley) Parks, Jolee (Ryan) Gruhn, Samantha Schmidt, Alexandra Schmidt, Alysa (Bryan) Behrens, Andrew Grimes, Erin Bramble, Molly Bramble, Jack Grimes and Kylie Grimes; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother, Paul Dallas Baylor and Chad Grimes.
