Ronald M. Jacobsen, 79, of Moline, Ill., formerly of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2024.
Services will be held at 12 p.m., on Thursday, September 26, at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. He will be laid to rest in Maysville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.
Ronald was born on April 26, 1945, to Marvin and Julianne (Kroeger) Jacobsen, in Davenport, Iowa. He was a 1963 graduate from Wheatland High school. Ron worked as a forklift operator at Sivyer Steel for 34 years, until retiring in 2005. On December 30, 2005 he married Judy Bybee in East Moline, Ill.
Ron enjoyed collecting antique garden tractors, NASCAR, gardening, playing cards, oil painting, and in his younger years he bowled and participated in 4H Club.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Judy Jacobsen; children, Jennifer (Todd) Westphal, Jill (Tom) McNamara, and Johnathan Gregoire; stepson, John Bybee; and brother, Roger (Sue) Jacobsen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved daughter, Jana Palmer; brother, Robin Jacobsen; and sister-in-law, Sally Jacobsen.

So sad to read of Ron's passing. He worked for me at Jacobson Staffing as a forklift operator and was married to Flo at one time. He was a good guy and I enjoyed his conversation. It was always good to run into him and Judy at tractor shows. My condolences to Judy and the family.

Roger, Sue and families. I'm sad to see of your brother's passing. I didn't know him, but when I saw his picture, I knew he had to be a Jacobsen. You boys all looked alike. Hopefully he had a good life and will continue the same in Heaven. My deepest condolences to all.
