MOLINE-Ronald D. Remy "Harvey" 77, of Moline, IL, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Trinity Hospital, Rock Island, IL, surrounded by family.
A funeral service will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-7 pm on Monday, May 9, 2022. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.
On February 23, 1945, Ron was born in Moline, IL, to Russell and Cora (Tindell) Remy. He married Marsha Goldsberry on August 23, 1965.
He graduated from Moline High School in 1963 and worked at Eagles grocery store. He was then employed by International Harvester Farmall Tractor Plant in Rock Island, IL. In the late 1980s, Ron moved his family to Springfield, OH, to work at the International Harvester Navistar Plant, retiring in 1999 and returning to Moline, IL.
Ron was an avid bowler beginning in high school, bowling in several leagues and enjoying tournaments. He was very proud of his 300 games. He also participated in a senior bowling league and coached kids in the junior league for many years. Since childhood, Ron was quite the baseball fan and always supported the Atlanta Braves. He enjoyed sharing baseball facts and statistics about the game at large. Ron enjoyed going to the drag strip, traveling, talking, doing quick math in his head, and he loved his Dr. Pepper. He most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Marsha; daughters: Ronda (Tim) Young, Springfield, OH, Robbie Bostic, Moline, IL, and Rolanda Boyce, Springfield, OH; son-in-law's Randy Bostic, Moline, IL and Nich Boyce, Springfield, OH; grandchildren Amanda (Steven) Lehner, Columbus, OH, Seth Bostic, Moline, IL, Zach (Kayla) Bostic, Davenport, IA, Thatcher, and London Boyce, Springfield, OH; great-grandsons Griffith, Sullivan, and Russell; god-son, Todd Thompson; and sister Donna Anderson, Moline, IL; Troy Madison, Argyle, TX; as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Cora; brother James Remy, sister Nancy Cozzad, brother-in-law Harry Anderson (like a big brother); and mother and father-in-law Ted and Helen Goldsberry.
